ABSTRACTS
The Scientific Committee invites you to submit abstracts for poster presentations at the 5th IPHCC - Doha 2023.
The conference is a forum for sharing knowledge and experiences in Primary Care across clinical practice updates - Artificial Intelligence & Innovations, Infectious Disease Surveillance and Control, Mental Health, Screening & Management, Lifestyle Medicine and Wellness, Leadership and Creative Governance, and Health Professions Education and Research. Submissions from all health care disciplines are welcome and students are particularly encouraged to share their work with the wider healthcare community (by submitting your abstract through student task force). All abstracts will be peer-reviewed based on published criteria.
The scientific committee may at their discretion, select a number of abstracts for oral presentation.

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT
GENERAL RULE FOR ABSTRACTS
- Abstracts must be uploaded onto the 5th IPHCC 2023 website
- Abstracts must adhere to the stipulated 350-word count (excluding title, list of author, keywords and references).
- All abstracts will be acknowledged once submitted. For accepted abstracts, confirmation of acceptance and reviewer feedback will be sent to the corresponding author(s).
- The abstract should be structured to include:
- Title
- A numbered list of authors (Please reference all contributing authors, their designations and the organization/ institution they are affiliated with). Please note, all listed authors must have contributed to the work submitted.
- Brief background and objective(s) of the study.
- Methodology employed (study design and settings).
- Results (major findings of the study).
- Implications of the study findings on health outcomes, policy or practice.
- Conclusions and recommendations based on the findings.
- Key words (not more than six).
- References where cited in the text should follow the Vancouver style (numbering) and be listed at the end (preferably no more than 3 references should be cited).
IMPORTANT NOTES
- The deadline for submission of abstracts is 14th September 2023 (23:59 pm Arabia Standard Time). Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.
- If authors have provided permissions during submission, abstracts that have been accepted will be published in the conference programme booklet and potentially in a supplement of a peer-reviewed journal following editing where necessary.
- Abstracts are often rejected for the following reasons:
- Lack of data/statistics/results where the study is drawing conclusions based on data collected
- No mention of objectives/methodology/conclusion
- Unoriginal work (previously presented/published)
- Not sufficiently supported by references
- Results not clearly presented
- Contents unclear and/or confusing
- Failure to follow the above instructions to authors
- Dispute in authorship
POSTER SPECIFICATIONS
Once abstracts have been accepted for poster presentation, authors should prepare their posters at their own costs.
The following guidance and format should be followed:
- All posters should have institutional logos and the 5th IPHCC 2023 logo at the top.
- Actual usable space for each poster board is 1.0 m (height/vertical) by 0.80m (width / horizontal). Poster size AO1 will suit the space provided.
- Posters should be readable by delegates from six feet away (use large fonts).
- A label indicating the poster title, authors and their affiliations must be placed at the top of the poster. Note: all listed authors must have contributed to the work/poster. Text should be divided into several clear sections, including: title, authors, background/introduction, materials and methods, figures/tables, results, conclusions and references.
- The message should be clear and understandable without oral explanation. Background information should be relevant and concise (with relevant, numbered references in text).
- Tables should be numbered and labelled with titles above the table.
- Figures (e.g. graphs, pictures, shapes) should be numbered and labelled with titles below the figure.
- A full list of cited references should be provided.
- A label indicating the funding source(s) and / or acknowledgments (where applicable) should be displayed in the lower right corner of the poster.
